STSM at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa
Nathalia Nocchi is a postdoctoral researcher at Marine Products Group from the Instituto Universitario de Bio-Orgánica Antonio González, Universidad de La Laguna (IUBO-ULL), Spain. She was awarded to a STSM at Molecular Microbiology of Pathogenic Bacteria Laboratory in the NOVA University of Lisbon (UCIBIO-FCT-NOVA), Portugal.
During the stay, Nathalia had the opportunity to assess the biological activity of extracts and fractions of dinoflagellates against growth and biofilm formation of human pathogenic bacteria. Promising results were achieved in the blue biotechnology field for the exploitation of marine bioresources and the valorization of their natural products.
The STSM allowed to Nathalia to establish an important and promising collaboration in the field of marine biotechnology with sharing of experience, knowledge, state-of-the-art tools and technologies. This experience was enormously helpful to develop STSM participant’s skills in investigation marine biotechnology and a great opportunity to the development of research line and scientific career as researcher.
