STSM at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa
Sara Garcia Davis is a postdoctoral researcher at the Marine Natural Products Group from Instituto Universitario de Bio-Orgánica Antonio González, Universidad de La Laguna (IUBO-ULL), Spain. She participated in the STSM at the Blue Biotechnology and Biomedicine Lab, headed by Dr. Susana P. Gaudêncio from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (UCIBIO FCT-NOVA), Portugal.
During the stay Sara had the opportunity to expand her skills and knowledge in the field of isolation as well as the taxonomic and phylogenetic analysis of marine sediment derived-actinomycetes from Canary Islands.
The STSM represent a promising collaboration to consolidate the processes for the identification and cultivation of target species, the extraction processes, the identification of bioactive molecules and its biotechnological applications.
